Accelerated Orthodontics

Introduction

How long your orthodontic treatment will take to complete entirely depends on your case, and each patient responds to orthodontic treatment differently. For some patients, treatment may only last as little as 6 months, while other cases may take over 24 months. It’s important to know that factors such as how far your teeth need to shift to be aligned and what type of orthodontic treatment you receive will play a role in the overall treatment time.

However, if you’re looking for faster results, our office also offers accelerated orthodontic treatments; these are methods that we use to speed up orthodontic treatments of all kinds, from Invisalign to traditional braces. That way, you can achieve your beautiful smile much faster! Some of the accelerated orthodontic treatments we use include:

AcceleDent

Our AcceleDent Aura is a special mouthpiece device that is worn over your braces or Invisalign. When activated, the device applies low magnitude vibrations to the teeth and surrounding bone to help accelerate tooth movement during orthodontic treatment. For maximum effectiveness, the hands-free mouthpiece should be worn and activated for at least 20 minutes each day. A benefit of the AcceleDent Aura is that it can be used within the comforts of your own home!

Propel

Propel is another advanced orthodontic system that is used to stimulate jaw bone growth and movement, which helps your teeth align faster. It’s a simple, 3-step procedure that can be performed in-office. First, we will apply a local anesthetic to the area receiving the Propel treatment. Afterward, the small Propel device is inserted into the jaw bone. Then, we will activate the device, which will stimulate the bone surrounding your teeth using micro-osteoperforation. This results in the increase of bone remodeling productivity, which proceeds to accelerate the rate teeth movement. This entire process takes little time and is virtually painless.
